Chordfall Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 3, 2026 · Last updated: July 3, 2026

Chordfall (“the app”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is developed and published by Possibility Outpost Inc. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. We built Chordfall to collect as little as possible: there are no ads, no third-party analytics, and no advertising trackers.

Summary

Information we handle

Game Center identity (only if you sign in)

Chordfall integrates with Apple’s Game Center. If you are signed in, Apple provides your Game Center display name (alias), your player identifier, and your profile photo. We use these to:

Game Center itself is operated by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy. You control your Game Center account and its visibility in the iOS Settings app. If you are not signed in to Game Center, the app is fully playable and none of this information is collected.

Songs, ratings, and comments you publish (Song Store)

Chordfall includes an optional Song Store where players share songs. When you choose to publish a song, post a rating, or write a comment, we store that content in Apple’s CloudKit public database so other players can find it. Published content includes:

This content is public. Anyone using Chordfall can see songs, ratings, comments, and the associated author name and photo. Do not include information in a title, description, tag, or comment that you do not want to be public.

Content you create but do not publish — songs saved only to your device, your settings, tempo, and personal best records — stays on your device and is not uploaded to us.

Content moderation

To keep the Song Store usable, text you submit publicly (song titles, tags, descriptions, and comments) may be checked against a list of prohibited terms on your device and may also be sent to a third-party automated moderation service (OpenAI’s content moderation API) to screen for harmful content. Only the submitted text is sent for this check; it is not used to identify you. If you report content, we record the report and the reason so we can review it.

Multiplayer duets

Chordfall’s in-person Duet mode connects two nearby devices directly over your local Wi-Fi network or Bluetooth using Apple’s Multipeer Connectivity. The devices exchange gameplay information (such as the chosen song and note timing) directly with each other. This data does not pass through our servers, and we do not store it.

Information we do not collect

Third-party services

Chordfall relies on the following services, each governed by its own privacy policy:

Data retention and deletion

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain processing (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act). Because we tie published content to your Game Center identity rather than to a separate account, the most direct way to exercise these rights is to unpublish your content in the app or to contact us. We do not sell personal information.

Children’s privacy

Chordfall is a general-audience app that includes social features (publishing, comments, and Game Center). It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 beyond what Apple’s Game Center provides under parental control. If you believe a child has provided personal information through public content, contact us and we will remove it.

Security

We use Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure to store published content, which provides encryption in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the limited information the app handles.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and post the new version at the same URL. Material changes will be reflected in the app’s release notes.
